What Is a Mutual Fund?
5 Dut · 3 min
A mutual fund pools money from many investors and, through a professional portfolio manager, spreads it across assets such as stocks, bonds and gold.
Units
In exchange for your money you receive units. A unit's price is calculated daily from the total value of the fund's holdings (its portfolio value).
Why a fund?
Instead of buying dozens of assets yourself, a small amount buys a stake in a diversified portfolio managed by experts — who charge a management fee in return.
