Fund Trading Hours

When does an order still count for today's price, and when does a sale actually reach your account? Both answers come from each fund's own prospectus terms.

Order deadlines

13:30 is the deadline for 1,094 of the 1,643 funds whose prospectus states one.

Every fund sets its own deadline in its prospectus. An order placed before it is filled at the next calculated share price; one placed after it is treated as if it arrived the following pricing — the same order, one day later.

Settlement — when the money arrives

Buying and selling do not settle on the same schedule.

Valör is the number of business days between your order and settlement. T+2 means two business days later; T+0 means the same day. Most funds redeem faster than they settle a purchase, so the money from a sale usually arrives before a purchase completes.

When prices are announced

A fund's share price is not live. It is calculated once per trading day from the closing value of everything the fund holds, then published — which is why you never know the exact price you will pay when you place the order. You are buying at the next price to be calculated, not the last one shown.

Weekends and holidays

Funds are not priced when the market is closed. An order sent on a Saturday is treated as if it arrived on the next business day, at that day's price.

Money market funds are the common confusion: they do not print a price over the weekend, but the return for those days is not lost — it shows up in the next business day's price, which is why Monday's move can look larger than a single day's.

Frequently asked questions

Until what time can I buy a fund?

It depends on the fund. 13:30 Istanbul time is the most common deadline, but each fund states its own in its prospectus, and some run to 17:00 or later. Use the lookup above to see a specific fund's deadline.

When does the money from a fund sale reach my account?

After the sale settles, which for most funds is one business day (T+1). The settlement period is set per fund; some money market funds settle the same day.

What time is a fund price announced?

Once per trading day, after the market closes and the fund's holdings are valued. The exact publication time varies by fund, so the price you pay is the next one calculated, not the one on screen when you order.

Can I buy a fund at the weekend?

You can place the order, but it is not executed at the weekend. It is treated as arriving on the next business day and filled at that day's price.

Do funds earn a return over the weekend?

No price is calculated while the market is closed, so no separate weekend return is published. For money market funds the accrual over those days appears in the next business day's price rather than being lost.

What price does my sale go through at?

The next price calculated after your order passes the deadline — not the price shown when you placed it. No one knows the exact figure at the moment of ordering.

In short

Two clocks govern a fund order: the deadline that decides which day's price you get, and the valör that decides when the money moves. Both are set per fund in its prospectus — the typical case is a 13:30 deadline and T+1 settlement on a sale, but the only figure that matters is your fund's own.
